Prior to any agreed activities I will conduct an initial home visit so that I can meet yourself and your dog/s to discuss any specific requirements. This will allow you and myself to tailor activities to ensure that both parties are happy with arrangements.
You agree to provide full and honest information on the consent form about your dog/s
The owner is responsible and will ensure that their dog is up to date with vaccinations flea and tick treatments and has had de-wormer treatments.
The owner is to make full disclosure of any quality or characteristic problems, this includes behavioural or health problems, aggression, anti-social behaviour, incontinence, lack of house training, excessive loud barking or whining.
The owner must provide the name and contact number of someone capable of making a decision relating to the pet in an emergency. If the contact is unavailable we reserve the right to consult with a veterinary surgeon and then make a decision which is in the best interest of the animal. The owner will be responsible for any costs incurred.
All dogs will be walked on the lead unless a prior agreement has been made and a disclaimer has been signed. If this is agreed, we will walk your dog on a long lead until we are satisfied recall is established.
The dog owner accepts full liability for any loss or damage to property or injury to other animals/people caused by their dog whilst being walked. Owner will also be financially responsible for any vets bills or third party claims while your dog is in our care.
The Walker will apply personal judgement to cut short or cancel a walk if necessary because of extreme weather or any signs of distress to the pet (thunderstorms, heat, illness ) etc.
Our services cannot be used if your dog is in season or pregnant.
Flexibility is sometimes required as your booked time is estimated only and whilst every effort is made to arrive at the time arranged, unforeseen circumstances can occur which could affect this.
The client consents to their pet being photographed of filmed resulting in material being used in any media or advertising. The footage will remain the property of ourselves.
Boarding only – in the event of your dog’s behaviour becoming uncontrollable, destructive or unreasonable you accept that he/she will be placed in a dog boarding kennel. This will be subject to a transfer charge of £20 which will be payable by yourself on your return. Any additional fees incurred will be chargeable to you. In addition, you agree to pay the cost of any damage caused by your dog to the carers home/property.
All bookings cancelled by the owner within 24 hours will be payable in full. If Dog Walker and Co cannot provide the service agreed, we will do our best to arrange an alternative unless in extreme circumstances when we will endeavour to give 24 hours’ notice.
Dog Walker and Co will obtain a copy of your house key during the initial home visit. This key will be held securely by Dog Walker and Co.
Please keep us updated of any contact number changes, your pets care needs, emergency contact numbers and other relevant information.
Dog Walker and Co has valid Public Liability Insurance for the peace of mind of our clients. The insurance only covers Dog Walker and Co for the duration of the selected service and only for services agreed.
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the property, its contents and pets are adequately insured throughout the duration of the agreement.
Dog Walker and Co will follow instructions to administer medications as directed but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result. If Dog Walker and Co is bitten or exposed to any disease or illness received from the clients’ pet/s which has not been properly or currently vaccinated, the client will be responsible for all costs and damages that may be incurred as a result.
Payment is in advance of any services being provided by cash or bank transfer
Dog Walker and Co shall not be liable to the client or be deemed to be in breach of the contract by reason of any delay in performing or any failure to perform any of its obligations in relation to the services, if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond Dog Walker and Co’s reasonable control.
